Same issue as I have read in countless reviews. 2 years is all this microwave lasted, the display in our microwave now is completely black after a few months of dimming gradually. Hope frigedaire can make this better

I purchased this microwave along with four other Frigidaire products. The display on the microwave has dimmed so that I can't use any of the features or see the the time or timer. I have called and no one ever answers and when I did a chat they told me because I am out of warranty they can't help me or recommend a solution except to pay some one to come fix it. It is a known issue on this model and I'm sad that they won't stand behind their products. I have paid much less for a microwave and had it last more than 10 years. This $500+ microwave is useless after less than 3 years with very light use.

After looking at the other reviews my issue seems to be similar. The microwave was perfectly fine one day and then I tried to change the power level. Now nothing will heat up and there is a horrible sound and smell coming from the appliance. I am debating whether to spend the hundreds of dollars I know it will cost to repair this one or spend a little more on a new one from a brand that will last. I tried calling Frigidaire but they said they were too busy and could not take my call at that time. Absolutely no help. So much for buying the "upgraded" appliance. What is "professional" about an appliance that breaks from normal use after 2 years?

Bought the entire Pro line for our new build 11/2017. In April our microwave started making a horrible loud sound when on and will not heat up. We have had issues with every appliance in the pro line that we bought. Great looking product but horrible quality!!

After not wanting to deal with this in a new house, I decided to look at repairing it. Appliance Repair company wants $185 just for the service call. Did a little research. This seems to be a known and common issue. I™™m hoping manufacturer will offer some help. I can™™t believe the amount of people that have same issue, and again a second time after repairing it. This came with a new house. The builder made the choices. We had no choices.Three years old and the unit is failing. The read out is so dim that you can™™t read it. The door opener doesn™™t work most of the time. It™™s only a matter of time before we will have to replace it.

I wish I had read everyone else™™s reviews before purchasing! Bought this microwave for a new build in December 2017. Earlier this year the display on the control panel started fading. Now, it is so faint you can barely read it all unless you basically place your face on the microwave. It still cooks fine, but I™™m frustrated the control panel is going out! It looks like this is a recurring issue for this model!!

This microwave stopped working entirely for us as well. There is a loud noise every time it is turned on and a burning smell. Called Frigidaire about this issue and they said they won't do anything about it. Very disappointed with this purchase and will not be purchasing from Frigidaire again.

We bought this microwave when we built our new house in 2016. The display became so dim, you could not read it in August of 2018 (less than 2 years). Replaced the control board for $160 and the display worked fine, until recently. The same thing happened, display went out. Considered buying a new one, but most new built-in units are over $500. So we ordered another control board for another $160. I just can't believe that the quality is only good for 18 months. Ridiculous.

the unit came with the new house i bought in 2016 and the on-unit display was very very low since it was installed even though my builder told me it was replaced but still the display was low. today 04/08/2020 i found the display was completely dead. i just called the service number found here and paid $100 over the phone up front for a service call. i am not impressed with frigidaire.

We bought ours less than two years ago for our new home. It now just makes a loud noise and doesn™™t cook or heat at all. Of course, with a one year warranty it can™™t be replaced, and how conveniently it has been discontinued now. That leaves us buying not only another microwave but trim as well. I purchased this microwave and all the other Frigidaire professional appliances for new home in 2016. Earlier this year the control panel started to go dim. Still worked but you had to guess what you typed in. Now I the panel is dark! What a joke of a quality product. I could have saved 400$ and bought a cheap microwave that would still be working like it should. It's embarrassing when company comes and tries to use the microwave I have to explain that if your lucky you can faintly see the display.

While the Frigidaire Professional Series microwave is visually appealing, it is definitely lacking in quality. After only two years, the display has gone completely dim. I was extremely disappointed to see the number of other reviews that stated this exact same issue. In addition to this, the door of the microwave doesn't always open when you press the door release panel (this issue started about 15 months after owning the microwave). I'm now struggling to find someone locally to repair the microwave as it is out of warranty (the repair company that Frigidaire recommended in my area does not work on microwaves out of warranty). I guess this is why Frigidaire only offers a 1 year manufacturer's warranty - they're definitely in the clear when the problems start to arise with this particular model. This was my first time owning a Frigidaire appliance, and sadly it will probably be my last. I guess I'll be in the market for a replacement microwave. Sincerely,A Disgruntled Frigidaire Customer

I rarely write reviews, but this is my second review of the Frigidaire Professional line of products. We bought the Frigidaire Professional line of appliances for our new build 2 years ago. The first review was in reference to the double oven. The oven has been absolutely terrible, burns everything in the back center regardless of temperature or whether convection is used - even had a tech come out while still in warranty to tell me that is how it was designed...what?!? I wrote a review of that some time ago because it's been an awful experience and burns everything. Now, our microwave display has gone out completely! Its always been annoyingly dim, but now it's non existent! The microwave still works, but we can't really use any settings, we have to cook everything on high and set a timer to use the microwave...ridiculous! Ugh!

Purchased this product in 2016 with new house. With lite use, display went totally blank after 2 years. Frigidaire only warrants their products for 1 YEAR no matter what line of microwave your purchased (Professional Series, Gallery Series). With only a 1 year warranty period, they know they can't guarantee the quality of their products past then. Which is usually the case, based on the number of people who had this same defect. You've been warned! Buy at your on risk. Looks pretty / poor quality. Of course your can always purchase an extended warranty, but unknowing or potentially new Frigidaire customers didn't/won't know a replace or repair will be needed after 1-2 year, typically when the warranty is set to expire. Received absolutely no assistance from Frigidaire (no extended - no assistance period).

I purchased several Frigidaire products when I had my house built. The model FPMO209RF microwave had a slightly dim display when it was installed but over a year and a half the display slowly went dim to where it is now not usable anymore. I searched the internet and saw that this is a common problem with a lot of complaints. I was advised by an appliance repair tech to buy another unit and throw the original away as the cost is to much for labor and parts. I contacted Frigidaire to explain the issue and was only told that my appliances was out of warranty and they could do nothing. This product should be more durable. I would not advise anyone to purchase this product or any Frigidaire product as the quality may be lacking. If you do purchase their products get an extended warranty.

I am in Canada. Model CPMO209RFA . After only 1.5 years, the display got so dim that it is not usable anymore. I searched the internet and see it is a common problem with a lot o complaints. The product has nice design and fair price but I hate to purchase electrical item for only 1.5 years. It needs to be more durable

While Frigidaire Professional Products are nice to look at, the quality of the microwave is far less appealing. As stated in many other reviews, the control panel went dim right at 2 years of Extremely Light use. While it appeared the panel had stopped working altogether, it was actually just very difficult to see due to being so dim. It™™s too soon for this professional line product to have issues. Very Disappointing.

I was happy with the look and performance of this microwave (FPMO209RFA) until barely over 2 years of normal use when the control panel led display went so dim it is no longer legible. I looked and saw other reviews of customers citing this very same issue, and they were instructed to contact customer service so I tried to avoid this negative review by reaching out to Frigidaire as recommended by the online outreach specialist. I was informed that there was no recall issued and there was nothing they could do to remedy the issue. Very disappointed now in what I thought was a reliable appliance (and cannot recall this issue ever occurring in any other microwave I've used in the past several decades).

Although this microwave looks fantastic, after only 2 years of light use the display panel has stopped working completely, rendering our "professional" appliance virtually unusable. After reading the reviews here it appears that this is a common problem with this particular product. We are extremely disappointed and hope that Frigidaire will step up and remedy the problem.

Not the same quality of the previous model. Can't read the clock unless you are right in front of it, can barely hear the buzzer and the auto defrost feature makes it virtually impossible to defrost anything but the 7 foods that are listed. No timed defrost option.

When we bought this microwave the light panel was very dim and hard to read. Since the microwave was up high we assumed it was the angle. We have since discovered this was a problem with this unit. However we didn't realize until it was out of warranty. Since then the entire panel has gone out.

The first microwave, that came as part of my suite of kitchen appliances, worked for about 5 times and then just died. Since it was still under warranty, a part was replaced, but it still didn't work. I told the local store where I had purchased it that it was time for a replacement microwave, as I had been without a microwave for the entire summer. I finally did get a new one and so far so good, I like the large capacity. My only complaint is that it beeps a lot when it's done, and if I don't take the food out right away it becomes annoying.

I really like how it has lots of different settings and choices for whatever we happen to be heating. Very user friendly. However, our door has stopped opening. We have to wedge our fingers between the door and the opening in the counter to pry it open.
