I'm 76 years old, we have been married 58 years, I bet we have purchased more than 10 sets over the years. First time for Speed Queen set, love EVERYTHING about them! Nice still quiet wash & I can have hot water even in the quick wash setting. I'm sure they should be listed in our Will because they are going to out last us. I remember as a kid watching Queen For A Day on TV & the washer & dryer sets they gave away were Speed Queen's.

Expected better after recommendations other owners

Let's see how to begin. First off I started with a top Load that had a defect from the factory that still got packaged to be delivered to customers, unfortunately I was the one that got it. The top rim of the drum had been damaged during assembly/factory build and was still used with silicone slapped on top and then the plastic trim installed over it. Needless to say when the drum was agitating and spinning the water leaked out. This was a brand new delivered unit. I was able to get my dealer to take back the machine so I decided to pay the difference and go with the front loader. Now I have an issue with a whistling/siren type noise during the spin/wash sycle that happens when the drum is changing speeds spinning. Sounds like someone whistling randomly. I expected much more from Speed Queen for it's QC and build quality. The overall build is great but the QC seems to be lacking. Regarding the front loader seal/gasket and better material should be used and not such a rubbery type to wear the color rubs off as well as a lint/hair magnet that will not just rub off. It requires almost a lint brush to get off. It also has a terrible odor to the seal which i never had with my old Electrolux. Cleaning and drying the seal after each wash with a microfiber towel creates streaks on the towel from the rubber. Disappointed to say the least and if and when I do need to replace, SQ will not be my first option to buy or recommend.

Slightly disappointed!

Seems to clean good. I have had an issue with water/detergent coming out the tray. I see that there are flow restrictors available, Speed Queen should provide these, seems from online reviews this is common. This washer should handle normal water pressures without issue. Even when level it seems to have a little more vibration than my old washer. Overall it seems good, just hope it lasts.

Dispenser Drawer Leaking

I have only had the machine for about one month but the dispenser drawer has leaked soap, suds, and water several times down the front of my washer and onto my floor. I cannot link it to any particular cycle, water temperature or product in the dispenser. If this issue cannot be resolved, I am returning the machine. It is too expensive to tolerate this design flaw.

Being in the appliance repair business for over 35 years, I knew of the quality and durability prior to purchasing this new set.I recommend nothing but Speed Queen machines to all of my customers. The initial cost can be intimidating, but you will not find a more solid, better built machine out there with any manufacturer. Speed Queen is also confident in their product, that they stand behind it for between 3 & 7 years parts and labor depending on model. My only complaint would be I wish the remind chime were louder and more persistent. This machine runs so quietly, we sometimes forget we had a load of clothes in it.

Not cheap by any means, and now I regret buying them. The washer barely gets the clothes wet. We've tried different settings with tiny loads and the clothes barely get washed. I have been mostly disappointed in my machine. the settings are complicated, On many occasions at the end of the cycle the panel has E.r signal illuminated and I have no idea what it is? I've had service in and they thought it had to do without of balance and"fixed" it but 2 loads later I had the same message. It has been a surprise to me. With all the rave reviews I expected to be wowed by the Speed Queen but I truly wish I had not bought it. :(

As a wildlife rehabilitation center, reliable laundry equipment is not a convenience, it is essential to the care of the hundreds of animals that come through our facility. Every day we wash towels, bedding, blankets, and other materials needed to maintain a clean, sanitary environment for injured and orphaned wildlife. We purchased a Speed Queen commercial washer at the beginning of May specifically because we needed a machine capable of handling larger loads efficiently. Unfortunately, the washer has not met our expectations. The drive belt has come off twice since installation, resulting in unexpected downtime and disrupting our daily operations. After the first issue, we were told we were overloading the washer. However, we were washing fewer than the manufacturer's recommended standard load of 8 to 10 towels. The entire reason we invested in a commercial washer was to avoid having to run multiple small loads throughout the day. It was later discovered that the washer had been delivered and installed without the leveling legs. We are still waiting for the necessary parts to arrive so the washer can be properly installed and evaluated. When a commercial washer is out of service, it has a direct impact on our mission. Laundry quickly accumulates, staff spend valuable time trying to work around the issue, and the care of our wildlife patients becomes more difficult. In a rehabilitation facility where cleanliness is critical to animal health, dependable equipment is not optional. We remain hopeful this issue will be resolved promptly and that the washer will ultimately perform as expected. However, our experience so far has been disappointing, particularly given the investment made in what we believed would be a dependable commercial-grade machine.

Washer failed within first 3 weejs

Our washer broke within 3 weeks of using it. The code shown was "do" which according to the manual indicated the door was open. We did the DIY solution but that did not fix the issue. We contacted the place we purchased it from and a service call was performed. The issue was a connection came loose to the door latch. This was due to poor workmanship on the build of the washer at the factory. Something I did not expect from buying a Speed Queen.

A disappointment sadly

I purchased this with the matched dryer back in December of 2024. Long story short, that original set was replaced within and a new set ordered on 1/29/25 due to extreme imbalance in both the washer and dry drums. Upon installation of my 2nd set, it was immediately reconized that the washersdoor lock was temperamental. The door needs to be pushed in on the bottom in order to get a good seal to run...otherwise it just clicks over and over again and the load will not start (though the door is locked and you cannot open it). There have been countles times I have had to unplug and plug the machine back in the machine in order to get the lock to release. I have had countless service visits. With one visit the tech called Speed Queen in my presence and had them on speaker as we walked through everything. They had suggested that a new door assembly would be sent out to reair the issue. However, only a door was sent and nothing changed accept it did decrease, slightly, the frequesncy in which this happens. I was in communication with Ferguson, where I purchased it, and my rep told me they were working on getting another full replacement machine. It has been months (Jan-April) with no success. The washer, when it starts correctly, works beautifully on all the cycles I have used. I appreciate the outcomes and stain removal, but I am giving this a 2 star based on reliablility to start and poor customer service.

There is marks scratches in the drum I sent in photos and was told it was not covered by the warranty. They are apparently covered by a clear coat because the surface is smooth. Went to the dealer to discuss my options and they had one on display that looked exactly like mine.How do you think that looks like to a prospective customer? I love how fast and customizable this washer is. It really is unlike other front load washing machines out there. This is from a video on YouTube so may not be completely accurate: - [ ] 4 shock absorbers instead of 3 (2 in the back and 1 in the front) - [ ] 2 ball bearing rings for balancing one in front and one in the back - [ ] Full stainless steel drum (mold resistant and durability and resistant to detergents and everything building up ) - [ ] Fully serviceable from the front - [ ] Horizontal tilt instead of a tilted drum - [ ] Baffles are completely attached and leave no gap between the drum and the baffle so no detergent or water can build up - [ ] Wash time is set. No sensing. - [ ] Can add 3 extra rinses if needed - [ ] Lifetime warranty on inner and outer wash drum (it is stainless steel however) - [ ] 3 shipping bolts instead of 2. Usually they only have 2 in the back but this has 2 in the back and 1 in the front. It isn't found in too many stores, but if interested look at their locator of vendors on their website. I can only think of a few things that aren't huge issues. If there is a way can make final rinse of fabric softener do after the wash cycle instead of it being the last rinse when it's dispensed If there is a graph that shows the water usage of each cycle since didn't see on the spin speed graph A way to add more water to the cycles

Thankfully, It's under warranty and "Two Brothers Appliance" were able to come right out and fix it today. Otherwise, it's been awesome! We do ALOT of laundry!!! Operation of Speed Queen front load washer/dryer

Only had for a month now. Too soon for a long term rating, but so far there are several features I like. Washer and dryer both spin very well and smooth. Cleaning on washer is excellent. Don't think ou can get any better. The washer does not use a lot of water. The loading is smaller than the big LG we had, but I like this better. The only problem I've had was the fill hose inside the machine had the clamp come loose and flooded my floors after just three weeks. The issue was corrected with a service call and have had no other problems. Love this machine!

Initial Washer Review

This is our second front load machine after 22 years with our previous Whirlpool front load machine. The Speed Queen seems to mostly do what it should, but I am disappointed after spending 2.5 times the cost of a normal machine to still have the same noise and vibration issues while attempting to balance loads that we experienced with our old Whirlpool machine. I had hoped that this front load issue would have been improved by now.

Great Washer but the door does not shut very good -- meaning that we have to shut the door very hard, if we don't the light keeps flashing and ringing meaning please shut the door. Then we need to slam it shut harder than I should have to. I think. Then all is good. Maybe that is the way it is designed ot close. I need to stop down to the dealer to find out the correct way to shut the door or if it need adjusting.

These washers are built on the same chassis as those that survive coin op laundromats, college dorms, and the local elementary school. Washes everything that I have put in it, and NO UNBALANCE ERRORS! Quiet too, and heavy. Only full sized front loader with non-porous stainless steel outer tub, so will have way less smell issues than porous plastic
